I bought this unit because I wanted to create some airy layers out of existing plastic bags. One thing I found is that you can make any size plastic bag and seal one or all of the edges in a matter of seconds. And that at the lowest settings! Then it dawned on me that I often use ziplock bags to store food in the freezer, but for some reason I always have trouble with some of them not closing properly. Now I just take this unit out and to create an extra seal I seal the bags just below the zipper line and no more randomly open bags in the freezer. Just think how many other things you can use it for. Sealed beans, pasta, leftovers, etc. Extra sealed in a ziplock bag.
