I was excited to try this turntable by setting it up according to the directions (not that there's really much to do) but found that the poor design of the turntable itself hindered enjoyment. Something had to fall under the machine during transport. The machine actually works: the power turns on and the turntable spins as the needle is lifted, but the mysterious object gives the impression that some sort of creature is holding its claws around a hidden spindle. A terrible scratching sound is heard when the player is rotated. I'm so angry I don't understand what the hell is doing this. I definitely don't want to ruin vinyl. So unfortunately a poorly designed machine thwarted my plans. I do not recommend this player.
