Satellite TV Recordings

I need to have some programs available over and over again, even when we're in the car. I'll find I need what should be, all to favourites, 100th view, one episode for my 2 or 5 year old, especially on long car rides, doctor visits etc. DVD- the Toshiba player comes with our recording companion who makes life a little easier. There are also many different menu items to add and customize your DVD to your liking and specification. It took quite a while to connect as the instructions didn't quite fit our situation. When the three of us got together and tried all the available combinations and looked up the wiring online, we were ready to go. Using RCA cables (red, white and yellow cables) we connected them to the L1 audio input. Toshiba DVD player and connected to audio output, set 2 to satellite box. Then the S-Video cable that is connected to the Toshiba's S-Video Out port is connected to the TV's S-Video In port. We changed the settings on the TV to S-Video. We set up the satellite and Toshiba remotes with codes and follow Toshiba's instructions to find the right codes for our remotes. With this method, make sure you select L1 on Toshiba's internal bezel. Also make sure you select S-Video on your TV and possibly your satellite remote depending on what type of box you have.
