I am writing on my boat and am actually fishing as I write this review. This is really so much fun! This thing works like a happy cricket! I have been fishing here for several months and caught more today than I have all year. It works great as a bait (shows small fish) and then the medium sized indicator represents medium sized cats, large sand bass, large crappies. Big Fish Indicator - 15lb+. Don't use it in the pool for validation. TBH This is stupid. In fact, this is a clicker that measures time. Not distance or fish. Air bubbles are screwed into it, so you have to tow in a drift or tow very slowly with an electric motor. As soon as I start the engine, it gives incorrect readings. This is because air bubbles are sending the ping and the device is not timing correctly. If that doesn't work I suggest playing around with your sensitivity gauge. Something tells me that this toggles the frequency (e.g. the pitch of the internal clicker): the lower the sensitivity, the wider the angle (larger coverage area), the higher the sensitivity, the higher the accuracy, but the smaller the coverage area . I'm on a 4 out of 5 setting in 14 feet of murky water. And I light these fish. Arrived very quickly and I had a good 90 day return date but to be honest I would never return without it.
