Review on Kestrel Sports Plastic Bundle Discs by Angelo Forrest

Great rims!: Disc Sports

These rims are super great rims. I'm an intermediate disc golfer and enjoy playing with them. I have a few comments. The discs are manufactured by Gateway Discs. These discs are not a Kestrel design, they are actually re-stamped Gateway discs. I only say this to buyers who may think they are buying a new product that is exclusive to a small business. As far as I can tell, the five disc set contains the following Gateway discs: Diablo (diamond plastic) - 11/5/-1/2 Assassin (also diamond plastic - 9/6/-2/1 Demon (Sure Grip Plastic) - 6/3/0/4 Element (aka Sure Grip Plastic) - 5/5/-1/1 Warlock (either Base Plastic or Organic Plastic) 2/3/0/1 Element with incorrect flight ratings stamped, giving the impression that there are two 11-speed drivetrains in the set, when in fact there is only one. Aside from a typo, the slight differences in flight ratings between the Gateway product and Kestrel's re-stamp confuses me, as I don't know why Kestrel chose to overstate the ratings. The Sure Grip plastic, while grippy, is quite stiff and breaks very easily when thrown against a tree. However, the drivers and stick feel very solid and pleasantly surprised me in the durability department. The bag is pretty good and will be a good Christmas present for a friend or family wed. mber since I don't plan to use it. The material is solid and the workmanship is really great. The value of this package is amazing. If you were to buy each of the products individually, you would lose at least $70-$80 on this product. Bottom Line: If you need a starter kit or are just a step up from another brand's starter kit, the Kestrel is for you. The price is amazing and some of these discs will last you a long time. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these sets.
