Easily fix my dashboard temp gauge!

I recently bought an old car from the 1980's that had overheating issues for various reasons. The overheating got about 100 times worse because my engine temp gauge on the dash wasn't working. I had no way of knowing if it was getting too hot until I noticed a drop in power or a severe rattle in the hills. It's a wonder I haven't destroyed my entire engine up to this point. Well, this temperature measurement unit solved that part of my problem. I didn't drain the coolant, just cleaned around the old block with WD-40, a toothbrush, paper towels, and dental floss. Then he removed the old block and screwed in the new one as fast as he could. With a cold engine of course! The new part had a different hex size than the old part, which wasn't a problem as the threads matched. At this point my coolant was 85% seawater as it was boiling away in sticks all the time so little to no antifreeze was lost. The product description here is very confusing and misleading. I don't know why they call it a switch and not a transmitter. I don't know why they mention "instant action" and fan controls. The part I received looked exactly like the picture, with a single spade connector, and was in a box marked "TS-198". And it was definitely a temperature sensor transmitter, not a cooling fan on/off thermostat switch. You can determine if you need a new transmitter unit by disconnecting a wire from the old one and grounding it to the engine block with the ignition on. Turn the key to the "Work" position. If the pressure gauge itself and the connection cables are OK, the needle of the pressure gauge should go up.
