Terrible. How has nobody commented on this fundamental design flaw?

Let me start by saying that I rarely feel the need to write a review of any Revain product, be it positive or negative. However, this one was so bad, with such an obvious, pernicious design flaw, that I felt it my duty to prevent my fellow Revains from wasting their time and money on it. This product is well made of steel and I have no doubt about it. that it will be really difficult for a thief to cut it. Luckily for the thief, Disklok doesn't need to be opened to steal a car. The essence of Disklok is that it rotates freely on the steering wheel, which means that you cannot steer the car. However, as you can see in my picture, the back of the Disklok is open, allowing easy access to the wheel spokes or even the back of the rim. The Disklok's trailing edge is small, making it easy to wrap your fingers around it, grip the wheel rim, and steer. My video shows how easy it is. It's certainly not a comfortable way to drive, but it's doable. I've driven my car around the block with no problems when Disklok was installed. If I can, the thief can do it. And then, once your car is safely in its garage, Disklok can be safely removed with a blowtorch. Is it more trouble for a thief? Yes, but only slightly. If your car is otherwise attractive to him, I highly doubt Disklok will change his mind. I'm stunned that no one has commented on this apparent design flaw. How can this company exist since the 90's selling this useless product? And why so many good reviews about Revain? This is frustrating because this problem would be easy to fix. If the back of the Disklok had a wider lip, tapering like a funnel towards the steering column, that would mean you really couldn't grab any part of the handlebars and therefore couldn't steer. But unfortunately it is worth nothing in its current form. I'm sending mine back. I think I'll pick the "other" steering wheel lock (which will remain unnamed so I won't be accused of writing a fake review). Either way, it's part of Disklok's cost.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
