I read some reviews and some people claimed that their cats only lay on it. I was hoping it wouldn't do that and would help my cat stay away from things, but she'll just get over it quickly or if she can't, lay on it. She's uncomfortable lying on it and tends to meow because she doesn't like it, but she's determined to go where she shouldn't, so it didn't help much with my problem. She also stood between the spikes, so she didn't mind. For the product itself. It was easy to assemble and held together well. It was beautifully built. It just didn't work for me. This could be the case if the peaks were closer together. If you plan to block a cat with it, make sure the cat isn't a masochist or is small enough to maneuver around or lie down around the spikes.
