I wanted something that would deter the cops from attacking me, but if I were going out I could easily take it off and put it in the trunk and pack it up so it wouldn't get damaged if you put it in the mud spill . It's good that your shoulder isn't in the way and you can see everything behind you, but bad as many other reviewers say everything looks smaller, or if it was further away I wish they had that kind of illusion instead attached a simple mirror. Also, it moves towards you a little, you often have to adjust it. In general it works fine for my purposes.
