Okay I was really apprehensive about using this on the stovetop but it worked so well! The water boiled without any problems! I then put in my own loose tea and it filtered well. It's not a mesh filter that large sediments fall through, part of the filter is glass with a few tiny slits, and it has enough space for the scent to mix with water and only tiny particles pass through. In my photos you can see that it worked so well. I'm not impressed. I was seriously afraid the pot would break if I tried to boil water, but it held up well.
