I have a PS4 charging station so I bought it when I saw the PS3 version. other charging pads. This stand allows you to mount the controller on the charger without trying to align the USB ports. There is a small curved part of the adapter that you plug into the controller. It has charging contacts that match the charger. I've had these on my PS4 controllers for years and never noticed them. They didn't even fall. This setup didn't work for my 3rd party controller. The adapter didn't fit. If I get another game console I will look for this Nyko charger for these controllers.
