JideTech 2 Port Displayport KVM Switch works great for Linux 3440 x 1440 screen

TL; Summary DNR - like KVM, some minor glitches. Like many people, I now work mostly from home. I have a home computer (two year old desktop) and a work computer (Lenovo laptop) and am having trouble setting up my work environment. Linux is running on both computers. I originally used a 1080x1920 monitor on each system and then combined them into 2 monitors and used a dual monitor KVM setup but due to space constraints I had to limit the use of a larger monitor but my working system would not be able to do so 4K monitor to handle. I chose the Acer NITRO XV340CK 2K (3440x1440) monitor. I originally tried HDMI, but my work laptop doesn't support Nitro with HDMI, but it can with Displayport. And with a Displayport -> HDMI cable it didn't work either. So I was looking for a KVM that can switch 2K/4K Displayport on a budget under $100. I could find a few $200-$400 KVMs with good ratings, and I could find many KVMs with bad ratings or just not rated to run Displayport 1.2 and larger displays. I manually switched the monitor between the two systems, using a separate USB switch to switch the keyboard and mouse, and manually switched audio between the systems. It was a big no brainer and sometimes I would have a monitor on one system and a keyboard/mouse on another and wondered why I couldn't see anything on the screen. JideTech showed up a few days ago and I ordered it. I have to admit after getting burned by other KVMs I didn't have high hopes but with Revain at least I could get it back if I had to. What's nice is that I can switch analog audio as well as mouse and keyboard. My monitor has built in speakers and they work over KVM, but since I'm constantly switching between speakers and headphones, I prefer to just use the analog audio output/input. Issues above 60MHz so I carefully set the refresh rate to 60MHz on each computer and it worked great. I was able to increase the refresh rate to 144MHz on the desktop and 120MHz on the laptop and everything worked great. I suspect if I had a 4K monitor I would probably need to keep the refresh rate at 60MHz. Some of the failed KVMs I've tried in the past have visible artifacts on the screen when the refresh rate is set too high. Please note that I only use a standard USB mouse and keyboard (not wireless). A common complaint is that KVMs that look for a specific key sequence don't work with more complex keyboards/mice. So I keep it simple. I noticed 2 small mistakes. The first error was because I was using a USB hub/switch that combined multiple USB devices into one device and plugged into a USB port on the KVM. From time to time I lose one of my devices (usually a mouse) and have to unplug and plug it back in. I removed the USB hub/switch and plugged a mouse/keyboard directly into KVM and haven't seen an error since. The second error occurs when I switch to a working system and the splash screen comes up and I have to enter my password. The screensaver login prompt background is about 1080x1980, but as soon as I login the screen size reverts to 3440x1440 and all my windows are in the same place.
