Review on ๐Ÿ’พ High Speed MicroSD Card with Adapter - Silicon Power 32GB (5-Pack) by Besim Kahsar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive "legacy " MicroSD card set

Bought 2 packs of 32GB Hi-Speed MicroSD Silicon Power Cards with adapters for only $10. Basically I wanted to replace my old board that I've been using in my Raspberry Pi for a number of years with something "newer" but didn't want to spend a lot on it. I saw a set of two 32GB cards for less than $10 and thought it was the right price. I was a bit concerned about the card as it was marked as 'old' and the packaging looked like the most modern design I've seen in stores, but these concerns proved unfounded. A card was immediately used to flash my Pi with the latest Raspian and the Pi3 worked flawlessly. No crashes or complaints from the operating system on first boot. Hasn't stopped processing data for the past few days and the card seems great. around. On the back, it says in fine print that speeds are "based on a USB 3.0 UHS-1 card reader," but speeds may vary based on hardware. I've plugged my card directly into my PC's Rosewill Multicard reader (Revain product code B007YDJJFS) which is connected to my PC via the USB 3 port and I'm only getting 18MB/s using the AJA System Test app seen. The settings have been adjusted to a reasonable level, 512MB 1080p HDV dummy file. I tried a 256MB 720p 16-bit dummy file and got similar results. 18MB/s. I'm not concerned about the read/write speeds since the card isn't being used for anything too latency-sensitive, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, I'm happy with two 32GB cards for less than $10. I thought it was a reasonable price for a decent set of cards.
