I am comparing this shampoo to Pura D'or Original Gold as they are the only two anti-dilution shampoos I have purchased and tested. The immediate difference with this shampoo is that I felt it didn't strip the hair's natural oils. This is a mild shampoo that leaves hair clean and with a bit more volume. So I didn't find it necessary to use the conditioner. Pura D'or is more aggressive and the hair needs a conditioner. Both shampoos work great, for some reason both make my scalp itchy at times. This only happens if the shampoo is left on for about five minutes or more. As for layering, I have no problem with it since I have short hair. It has the usual ingredients for thinning hair, but I would have liked more peppermint oil as I can barely smell it, but it's there. Do shampoos work for thinning hair? Well, my hair falls out less, that's a fact, but thinning hair is due to many factors, such as psychological, dietary, genetic, and others. However, the shampoo helps reduce thinning and I recommend it.
