Very good jacket for the money. Based on that and my tagline, this may seem like an ambiguous compliment, but it isn't. Later more. The jacket is well made and well thought out. I ordered the large (6ft, 165lbs) and it fits great. It has customizations that allow you to customize it better. It has four outside pockets and three inside pockets. One of them has a zipper and appears to be made of waterproof material, ideal for your phone. The jacket itself compares well to my much more expensive signature jacket, except for one very important aspect. The quote above is from a tag on a label, and that's where the problem comes in. No matter how you describe it, this jacket is not armored. Padded maybe, but not armored. What they call "armor" is nothing more than dense pieces of foam about 1/4 inch thick. They can offer some protection on a small hit, but I don't think they would be of much use in a slip situation. My other jacket has real, regularly shaped pieces of hard plastic with a foam inner padding. They are designed to prevent abrasion and absorb shock. This is armor. I understand this is a budget jacket but for just a little bit more money they could make a much safer jacket ranging from good to great and 3 to 5.
