Review on πŸ’‘ LEDVANCE Sylvania Equivalent Efficient 40728: Illuminate Your Space with Exceptional Energy Savings by Matthew Bowman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

LEDs are good for LED bulbs

BR30 Warm (2700K) incandescent LEDs for indoor use. These are the type of lamps used in the "can" lights in my kitchen. As with many LEDs, there is a very slight delay when power is turned on. No delay when switching off. Good color light, comfortable and stable. 7W is slightly better, more economical than average for 650 lumens. In comparison, my other (B)R-30 lights are in the 8-11W range. I'm deducting a star from my rating for one reason only: I don't like the type of plastic on the face of the light. Between use and age, this type of plastic often ages badly - a lightbulb dims long before it fails. Remember that LEDs do not fade with age, but the plastic lens may yellow or become cloudy. They're still new so I'm just speculating for now, but that's the only possible area I'm concerned about with these bulbs. If you still have them 13 years later (the lifespan is stated on the packaging if you use it 3 hours a day), what will that plastic look like? At this stage of the game, the LEDs are not difficult. There is no household lighting that should not be LED. They use the least energy, have the lowest overall impact, are the easiest to recycle, and last so long that the savings in replacement/storage/shipping time alone are worth considering. Buy the lowest wattage LEDs you can find, relax and stop worrying about the lighting.
