I bought this humidifier because it far outperforms anything even remotely in its price range ($40 right now) in terms of cleanability and features. While it's not the quietest humidifier I've owned, it's also fairly quiet and has a larger water tank in a fairly compact unit. In addition, if the specifications are right, it has a very high water output, suitable for a larger area, with the possibility of gently reducing this level if necessary. I also really like the humidistat/timer controls and the LED looks nice (although that's hardly the reason I bought it). There are some hidden features: level reached). Press and hold Timer to change the temperature reading to Celsius. But there's one big issue that might affect the durability of this device: the design tends to throw the fog up and forward. So when there is airflow or the mist control is set to about halfway, the mist falls back and is sucked back into the second front fan. It's not the best anymore, but there's also a gap between the case and the fan that allows incoming mist to go straight into the control board (if I grab a flashlight I can actually see the top edge of the board through that slot see). I first noticed this when I saw the screen start to fog up after it was left on for an hour or two. I suspect this is behind other reviews mentioning faulty or endlessly humming front buttons. (Edit: I no longer believe fog is water in front of the screen. I never understood what it was, but it's not) Evaporate. Industrial oils? It can and will suck water through the front fan and gap, so that part is still true.) I really hope the manufacturer recognizes this issue and closes that gap, redirects the fog, or moves the fan lower because it does deserves to be a reliable product. As I said at the beginning of this review, there are no devices that can match the quality of other design features. I don't know why as I've done my best to keep moisture away from the controls and it doesn't seem to be there. It can even do this right after adding water after drying for a week. From what I can understand, the bottom "timer" button is incorrectly registering as being pressed and toggles in and out of timer edit mode on its own. If I turn it off for about ten minutes it usually seems to stop for me. I haven't narrowed it down to when it _starts_ to beep, but it seems to prefer it when it's been unplugged for an extended period of time (overnight or more). It can continue to beep even when turned off via the panel (usually the buttons don't register when it's turned off), so it's not as easy as a wrong button press. Maybe there is a bug in the real control program? Edit Dec 2021: I still have this and it continues to work until now. The occasional beep still occurs occasionally, causing some buttons to not work or perform a different action than intended. Apparently unplugging it temporarily will resolve the latter, but it will eventually start emitting random beeps again. I still suspect a little water vapor or mist getting into the control board. I also noticed that there is no obvious way to open the control panel and top fan assembly for cleaning. The top fan has accumulated quite a bit of dust on its blades over the course of its run, but the gray cover appears to be held fairly securely by a series of clips that are inaccessible once in place. . However, the bottom fan is easily accessible, at least thanks to the easily removable bottom cover.
