Review on πŸ’Ž Deluxe Jewelry Making Kit by Melissa & Doug with Stringing Components by David Lambert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Storage is a mess but otherwise great.

I bought this product for my daughter a week ago. She found it very interesting and has made several necklaces that she wears all day. This basically means that the set is doing its job. This is pretty much self-explanatory as the product photo shows all the ingredients plus a split storage tray. The elements are quite small and have a hole inside that you put the strings through. The spikes are quite long, but compared to the pearls, they seem quite fragile and thin. They're like shoelaces. All you have to do is put beads on the thread in any combination and quantity and that's it. You can create endless combinations and that's what kids love the most. Why I docked a star is the difficulty in storing things. I totally agree with other reviewers that this is nothing more than a secure storage box with no front cover. This makes it very difficult to store or use. I suggest packing all the beads in a bag or bags and forget about that half-finished storage board. Storage issues aside, this is a fun toy that can make a good gift for a little girl old enough not to swallow the beads. (Also, as of February 2015, it's cheaper to buy this item on Amazon than it is on the Melissa Doug website, which is the opposite of most other Melissa Doug toys.)
