I bought this set for my 5 year old because he wanted to make bracelets and necklaces for his friends for Christmas. We love this set and you get a lot of beads for a very affordable price! The strings are also of excellent quality. We love Melissa & Doug products! The only minor complaint is that I wish it came with storage or at least a top cover for the included tray. Otherwise this is a great purchase and I highly recommend it!

Hours of fun for our two 3 year olds (one boy, one girl). You can halve the strings and make them twice as long. The strands are long enough to make children's necklaces, bracelets, etc. The beads are made of wood and are of excellent quality. Everyone looks great. The valves work great. They stay on when the kids are wearing them, but I think they will definitely open when the kid gets stuck on something that's perfect.

Bought this set for my 5 year old granddaughter. The beads are easy to work with and she made two projects when we first opened the set. Only problem is there is no lid on the box hence 4 stars. The clasps are pretty flimsy too. We ended up using the magnetic clasps I had in my beading supplies. Great for little ones just starting school and learning the alphabet. I bought this product for my daughter a week ago. She found it very interesting and has made several necklaces that she wears all day. This basically means that the set is doing its job. This is pretty much self-explanatory as the product photo shows all the ingredients plus a split storage tray. The elements are quite small and have a hole inside that you put the strings through. My complaints first: Just because it's a bead set, it focuses on "girly" colors and themes. My son really likes the hearts and the color pink, but it's clearly made for "girls" and is completely free of "boys" colors and themes. My son loves letters so I chose this set. Of course, other bead sets I've seen at M&D were even more gender specific.
