Review on 🔌 Ableconn PCI-UB124 USB 3.0 4-Port Low Profile PCI Host Adapter Card with Renesas NEC UPD720201 chipset – Enhanced Connectivity Solution by Mike Newbill

It was horrible to use USB3 devices on a USB2 only machine. I was very happy to learn that it comes out of the box on Linux Mint and Manjaro Linux, nothing to install or configure. On Windows, the driver was easy to download and install, even though I'm an advanced user, so it doesn't say much. (A little more documentation might help Windows users install the driver.) This adapter card runs as fast as it should and doesn't get any warmer than I expected. Since I have a thin computer I had to use a flat (short) stick, but it only took me about 45 seconds to replace the large one. Please note that this is PCI and not PCI Express, but if I had to do it again I would definitely buy it. I'm only giving it four stars at the moment because I was hoping I could boot from it, although it might be a detriment to my machine.
