I first bought four separate cameras and set up open source NVR solutions that support ONVIF. While these solutions work well, I was unable to set up motion capture properly. After reading several reviews of these cameras as well as this NVR system I found that by using the H265+ lower resolution compression I can set up continuous recording and have enough 6TB of storage space to store 8 cameras. Buy these 4 cameras and a sharing NVR and the price was cheaper than assembling my own solution. I also like the fact that all the cameras are powered by the NVR. A single PoE switch costs almost as much as an HDD NVR, not to mention the cost of the PC required to run the solution. Overall, the cameras have decent 4K quality, even if they don't have a microphone. However, if you're looking for modern NVR software that you can access through a browser without using Active-X controls and legacy thick clients that need to run as administrator, look elsewhere; maybe upload again.
