Review on ⏰ Sony ICFC414 Clock Radio - Limited Availability, Perfect for Home and Office Use by Veronica Navarro

Not what I wanted - still looks

I wanted one of those radio controlled alarm clocks that turns itself on - I have one that's out of production which was perfect. I bought this one because it supposedly installs itself. no I have 12:00 blinking even after selecting the time zone. Other reviewers say they can't install it manually - that's not true. The instructions explain how to do this. I managed to connect everything and work with this AM. What I don't like about this radio is the manual tuning, not digital; I can't set an alarm for the days of the week. I wanted to be able to set alarm 1 for weekdays and alarm 2 for weekends. Alarm 2 has no alarm function, just a beep or "melody". The alarm sound is not very loud. I'm sure I could sleep through the night. My old clock radio automatically switched to daylight saving time - this one has a button that puts the time forward or backward by one hour. I'm so disappointed that I can't find a model that looks like the one I had but isn't junk. Who would have thought that the world of tablets, smartphones and MP3 players, oh my! make them obsolete. I don't care about the sound quality of the radio, just that I can turn it on and forget, as they say, waking up to my favorite FM station and listening to it while I get ready for work. I'm keeping it because I need it and I'm hoping I can find something that suits me better. I don't know why it's so hard to find a decent self setting clock radio these days.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some little things
