Don't buy it for the USB port!

I bought this radio specifically because it had USB backup capabilities when I wasn't charge via a solar panel because it's impossible for me to spend money on real batteries on a regular basis. The solar/USB from my solar powered generator was the primary use for getting weather reports and listening to NPR as I couldn't afford a cell phone with lots of data (lifebuoy phone). And after 2.75 months of ownership, with rare use of the USB connector, the connector got into the radio. I was out of minutes or data on my Lifeline phone so to date 3.25 months after purchase I have not been able to call, chat and view the warranty to find out I was a week late to request a refund or get a replacement. like I even want one.
