The brush may be fine. It seems so. But the lengthening of the handle caused a lot of suffering. Thinking that the inner metal tube was held in place by a threaded plastic band, I used a vise and an adjustable wrench to turn it after it wouldn't turn by hand. Eventually I started wiggling the brush assembly and the elongation started. It ended up being almost comical: you just had to unscrew the end of the brush to loosen it, twist it to tighten it. The negligence of those who failed to provide these instructions is staggering.
