Good flow but LOUD best with fish and aquatic animals

I received a pump that had apparently been opened and resealed previously. When I opened the box everything looked brand new so I thought maybe whoever packed the box forgot something and had to open it to put something in. Who knows why it was re-glued, but I installed it in the tank anyway. The controller is easy enough to figure out, even with poorly translated instructions. I played around with modes, placement and leveling speed a bit and finally settled on a good location and settings for my tank. I'm using the Sine Wave mode (W2) set at 70% with the knob turned all the way to slow down. I placed it on a recoil peg pointing slightly towards the side window about 4" below the waterline on a Fluval Evo 13.5 and paired it with a DCS1200 at 100% with two 1/4" RFGs. The amount of water this pump moves and the random flow created by the combination of pumps I have is great and I can say I have no dead spots now. when it's all, but the thing is LOUD. I can tolerate a bit of hum as the TV drowns it out a bit but this pump is a lot louder than that. Unfortunately it looks like this pump is making a return and I will most likely only get one I wanted with Aqamai KPS or Nero 3 begin. Overall I gave it two stars because it moves the water well and the creek is wide and gentle, but I can't rate it higher because of the noise level.

Pros
  • Wireless Master and Slave Control
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
