Fits great in a 5 gallon pail. It doesn't go down, but that's ok. I use two buckets when my car. One holds a wash solution and the other holds water, and that's at the bottom. This is a flush bucket. If the cloth/glove gets dirty, rinse with water and remove the dirt with Grit Guard. Dirt tends to fall sideways under the grate. You can then return to another bucket with a clean rag/glove. This will make the washer solution cleaner, which means your car will be cleaner. It also reduces the likelihood of scratches.
