These shorts are well constructed. The crotch is gusseted so there is little fear of ripping when crouching or bending. The shorts ride above my knee, I and 6' tall. All pockets are useable, some shorts I have tried are too tight around the thighs making some of the pockets unusable. I do recommend a size up to help with this issue if you have experienced the same problem with other brands. The stretch in the waistband is functional but I do not recommend using this feature as an excuse to try to wear a smaller size, see the discussion on the pockets again. All features in this product make the shorts great for those wanting to carry and organize their EDC load-out without having too much stuff in one pocket or another.
