I was very glad this was cheaper than FB ads and very happy to try it out. Upon opening, I have to admit that I was a bit surprised by the sponginess and the strange smell. I'm guessing they put some kind of additive or packing liquid in it to keep it moist. However, I read in other reviews that said soap should not be used. (Which makes sense given the sponge's smooth, almost squeaky texture. Using soap would make it slippery and prevent the sponge from coming into contact with skin.) After I washed my hair, my skin was moist enough to wash to use the sponge. He has worked as he says he will do. Dead skin cells are removed by gently rubbing the sponge on the skin. (Same as rubbing your finger over skin after getting out of the bath or hot tub. It just works better and covers more surface area.) After wiping off the dead skin, I just washed it off. . Then I washed myself with soap as usual. I think it will work after you've used the soap and rinsed it off, as long as the soap you chose doesn't leave a slippery film on your skin. I even used it on my face! I think maybe this could have worked better on a clean, non-moisturized face as my face had natural oils on it so it was smoother than it could have been. All in all a GREAT product! Highly recommended!
