I bought this to mount on top of the snowblower body of my garden tractor. A light in front of the parachute instead of the GT headlights shining into the back of the fan housing. It works very well for this purpose, producing much more light, shining wider, farther and brighter than white than GT headlights even when not blocked by a fan. Pros: - Nice bright 6000K white light for mounting on the fan case, only 2 holes drilled - Power cords are long enough for my use (other than the ones connected to the light block) Cons: - No wiring instructions. If someone doesn't understand such things, they will need a little help. It would be useful for MY application if the wires from the lightbar were 3 feet long. I need to route the cables back to the fan attachment point on the front of the tractor so I can leave them permanently attached to the back of the fan housing and disconnect from the tractor without loosening a few feet. Wire to tie somewhere when fan is not installed. - The wires from the power supply to the lightbar wires are female spade connectors, but the foot length wires on the lightbox are stripped and there are no connectors. Definitely a problem for those who don't. I'm assuming the connectors aren't pre-wired, so if a wire hole needs to be made it can be as small as possible. However, male plugs should come with the product, although I will be replacing it with a waterproof plug. I was lucky that I had 2 connectors of the right size. I received the unit the day before a 2 foot snowfall and set it up at 12F. I didn't have time to get my hands on the waterproof connector and parts needed to extend the cable and work properly to make a clean connection to the cables outside and under the hood of the tractor. - For MY direct battery powered application, the LED is on. The on/off switch indicates that the battery is being discharged. Luckily, this cable has a connector that is VERY easy to plug in and out.
