We video conference a lot during the pandemic and I needed a good microphone for my studio. I bought a Samson G-Track Pro which sounds great and has good features but is HEAVY! So when I decided to buy a boom it made sense to go with a Samson boom that was designed with their mics in mind. The boom arm is a solid grip with more than enough tension to hold a nearly 5lb mic with no play, no problem. than in the hanging position, the collet nut holding the mic mount is never tightened enough to secure the mic, and so after a while the mic starts spinning as you move the boom back and forth. It stays in place when you have the arrow where you need it, but if you move the arrow around a lot it gets annoying. hand has. I have a really nice studio table that I made to order and I have to rest a hand on the base of my arm while stretching my arm so it doesn't mess with the edge of my table. I use an extra piece of rubber (not included) on the bottom of the clamp to prevent the bottom of the clamp from cutting into the table. Due to the resistance the stem needs to support a heavier mic, I would like the C-clamp to have a wider base to distribute the load over a larger surface area. Finally, the price seems a bit high for what it is. . There are more stylish and possibly better booms in the same price range, but they can't handle the weight of the G-Track Pro so, as I said, you almost end up using their microphone boom. There are only triple clamps that are built just as well and cheaper than these. In the end, if you don't have a heavy mic I'd suggest looking for something less expensive or more stylish. If you have a G-Track or other prohibitively heavy mic, this boom will definitely hold its weight.
