I cook a lot with my cast iron skillet, at least 3-4 times a week, sometimes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the weekend. And although I've been told I don't have to clean it, I do. They arrived this afternoon and after lunch I decided to check it out. I threw one in the sink with my cast iron skillet and it grew! He turned into a sponge! This is a 3 pack so I took a side photo of the one that got wet and the other two that are still in the pack. You can see that it has gone from a completely flat to a sponge shape. Everything cool. How it works? Big. He had enough sand to clean my cast iron and clean the sinks. I don't think it absorbs as much as a regular sponge, but honestly we haven't had a sponge in our kitchen for 20 years. It's supposedly dishwasher safe, so after a few days we can pop it in the dishwasher to keep it clean. And when everything is worn out, it can go on our compost heap. Based on how it feels, I suspect it must be a long time. Very neat product!
