Due to conflicting size charts I bought both the large and the extra large. The size chart at the top of the page is incorrect. The correct size chart is hidden deep under the product description. I'm 40 inches at the hips and 41 inches at the waist. Both sizes fit. The large is cozy while the extra large is more relaxed. I bought these for testicular surgery and both sizes seem to fit me. Severe edema for two weeks postoperatively and the need to insert a heavy incontinence pad into the pouch led to the choice of an extra large size. After two weeks less swelling and no liner, the larger ones offer better support. One in four pairs had design issues. The rest was impeccable. Ten weeks after purchase I asked for help with a defective item and received a replacement in the mail 3 days later. This is a very reliable company that offers great customer service. UPDATE: 11/11/2020 Downgrading to three stars because the rubber thread is coming loose on all of them. This is with gentle washing and hanging to dry. Some started to unravel after the first wash, others took 8 or 9 washes. Only the GOLDBERG logo embroidered on the front wears out in a pair. I hate them because they fit and support very well and look good quality. I wash all 4 pairs at the same time and every time they come out of the washer they are all tied together with a very long thread or two that wraps around everything.
