I REALLY wanted this to be a gooseneck for my tablet. It's advertised as aluminum but I'd be very surprised if it was aluminum. The swivel that the tablet holder attaches to is just a ball and swivel with VERY LITTLE movement. You will click on the plastic pieces and try to move the tablet to the right place. The bad thing about these goosenecks is that they don't last long. If you keep bending the metal rod inside the case, it will wear out over time and break in half. There has to be a better idea for these goosenecks. After all, these goosenecks are cheap. Plastic parts broke when trying to rotate the tablet to place it in a prominent spot. Then he apparently dropped my tablet as the plastic ball joint holder is just cheap, poorly constructed plastic. If you want a tablet or phone holder for your desk that does NOT move or flex around the strap like I needed, this gooseneck may be a great choice for you (for the price). If you plan on moving/flexing the gooseneck to either get it out of the way when not in use or to be able to work around it, that gooseneck will eventually break. Much luck!
