I have never had a humidifier that after use causes condensation on the outside of the humidifier and surrounding countertop. The bedside table that the humidifier sat on is a homemade thing with thin laminated paper covering the chipboard frame and as the moisture stayed on the surface all night the paper lamination started to drip from moisture. I need to put a humidifier on a large plate to capture most of the moisture. The whole point of buying a small humidifier was that it wouldn't take up as much space as a large humidifier (the equivalent of a small microwave). Since I have to put a plate underneath to catch the condensation so it doesn't ruin the surface it's standing on, it defeats the whole purpose. I'll admit it produces a finer mist so it doesn't use up water as quickly as the larger ones I've had, but I'm still quite disappointed.
