These are little dressier than standard shorts and are little longer for us taller gals. I am just shy of 5'9" and these hit me about a 1/3 of the way down the thigh. People say these feel like polyester but they feel like cotton with a bit of heft to me. Not soft but not rough. Somewhere in the middle. I bought the same pair in Green but those fit more like a large on me so I am returning for a small. I have seen other reviews stating the fit can vary by color and I would have to agree based upon my limited experience. These will be a go to for summer and very on trend.
