So this is the second Chinese PDA I bought this year to experiment with. The first of these is the Linux-based RK2020 device. I have to say that the GPD XD Plus is more user-friendly since it uses Android. However, the stock ROM is loaded with software that I wouldn't run on my worst enemy's PC. So there is a good solution: root the device and install CleanROM. So with CleanROM and a bit of tweaking I have 60% of GameCube games working and playing on the Dolphin emulator, 99% of N64 games working fine on M64Plus FZ, 100% PlayStation compatibility on ePSXe and Dreamcast working fine on recast. I had some trouble getting the GTA San Andreas Android port to work properly, but after a bit of research I found a texture pack that needed to be included in the Android files to make it work. Work. The build quality of this device is 10/10. Buttons and clicks are good, hinges better than the 3DS, joysticks have decent deadzone. I highly recommend buying this device over other Chinese PDAs as it is easier to use and easier to load onto the SD card. Please note that you are running an older version of Android (7.0) so not all apps are available for download on the Google Play Store.
