Now perfectly leveled

I installed this kit on a 2007 4runner Sport Edition with X-Reas suspension which made it harder to try to clean the hydraulic lines connecting the shock absorbers, to say the least. not to damage. The lower control arms took a lot of force to push them down far enough to bring the shocks back. Luckily the rear was very light. Thanks to the footpegs, my car is now perfectly level. The difference in distance between the front and rear wheels only gives the impression that there is still a rake in front. Toyota deliberately arched the rear wheel arches higher to make it look like the rake was still there. Having said that, I want to clarify that when I first lowered the car it looked like I got a 3 inch hub in the front, but after driving around the block a few times, it did he settled down to a 2.5 inch hub at the front and 1.5 inches. Elevator at the back as stated in the description. To my surprise, subsequent alignment showed that the camber hadn't changed at all, although at first it appeared the tires were pitching down. The toe was slightly off, as was the caster. They couldn't set the caster past 1.6 degrees. The spec calls for 3.4ish. Actually it doesn't matter, because track and camber wear out the tires, not the caster. It drives the same, except the body seems to lean a little more in corners, which could simply be because it's heavier now, or because all the dampers are now stretched due to the increased height, reducing overall hydraulic pressure in the xreas system. All in all it took me about 10 hours with normal shop tools, but I used an air wrench and a PB blaster which helped a lot to loosen the rusty bolts. I like the way it looks now and you definitely feel taller behind the wheel. I almost bought just the front alignment kit but am glad I went with this one. I almost feel like I could use an extra inch around!
