As other reviewers have said the color is a light sage shade which is what I wanted. It's dark green. I washed it in cold water and dried it on low heat. However, I didn't notice any noticeable shrinkage; I realized the need to pet him quickly. I've done this with a duvet on the bed and it's easy. To quickly iron this blanket, place it on the bed with one side flush with the edge of the bed. Flatten the duvet with an iron. Then pull the comforter over the bed until the other side matches the bed and iron. This took about five minutes. This duvet is lightweight and perfect for spring and summer. If you are looking for something heavy then this blanket is not for you. I'm not a florist, but the pattern is subtle and looks a bit like a fern at first glance. In combination with a light duvet perfect for cool spring nights. The elegance of this quilt suits many styles of home decor, from rustic to contemporary.
