Our son is 7 years old and has problems with movement planning although he is growing beyond that but they still show up every now and then. Do some motor planning, such as B. cycling, become a problem for him. We just got out his balance bike and let him train 15-30 minutes a day for about 4 days. We lowered the seat to the minimum height so that when he sits in the seat his feet are on the floor. At first he just stood in the bike (not on the seat) and walked around on the bike. So we told him to sit on the seat and use his legs to move the bike, which he did. The next time he rode it, we told him as soon as he picked up a little speed and started moving his feet to raise his legs. The great thing about a balance bike is that there are no pedals in the way. So if they get scared, they can put their feet on the ground immediately to keep them from falling. Nothing stops their legs from stopping when they want or need to. Basically, these bikes are a size or two smaller than what they're meant to ride, and that's their whole purpose. This gives the child more control over the bike. Seems obvious but it really helps them learn to ride a bike. Thanks to the balance bike, our son learned to ride a bike in 4 days. Our only regret is that we didn't get it when he was much younger! I cannot express how proud we are not only of our son but also how proud he was of himself after learning to ride a bike.
