Product description is misleading. "【High Quality Material】Aluminum alloy material, made of ball base, durable and heat resistant, wire balls are made of high quality brass, help reduce oxide formation, increase the life of the soldering iron tip. made of steel NOT aluminum alloy, the magnet sticks very easily this dome holder IMO the material of the dome holder is not a big deal as it can hold brass shavings for cleaning the soldering tip I am a fan of these dome holders because they have enough room to easily rotate the brushed brass plate into the fresh area by you put the tip in or copper colored steel. These shaved metal pads are really strongly attracted to a magnet! Brass shouldn't contain any ferrous metals (ferrous or steel) but these pads do contain iron. I will no longer be using these tip cleaners and will continue to use the high quality lead-free brass pads from METCAL use the approx have the same price as these. but I like the dome pillow holder.
