Firat off, each rod is individually wrapped in plastic which cannot be removed without using a knife scratching the surface of the rod. It took me almost 15 minutes per bar to remove the plastic wrap. Second, they stretch and then twist to tighten the rods, causing material over 4 ounces to not hold tension properly. These poles are not a good choice if you have velvet material or anything longer than 4 feet. They look great and are pretty easy to install if you have the right hanging hardware. Lace curtains or ultralight cotton would probably work, but not heavier ones. I returned mine because they didn't hold the material in my sashes.
