It's basically a piece of plastic that snaps onto the top and bottom of your Macbook Air. The color I received was slate blue which I thought was grey-blue. It is, but not as beautiful as in the picture. The lid leaves traces of grease from the natural oils in my hands on the lid which always makes it look permanently old or dirty to me. But it was cheap and does the job of protecting the laptop's outer layer from scratches. It's very easy. I don't notice any rubbing or traces of it on my laptop. The kit came with a keyboard cover made of very thin plastic that prevents dust from entering the keyboard. I like the keyboard cover. It's not slippery and stays in place, a very soft, rubbery material that's comfortable to type on.
