After lugging a heavy, bulky midwestern wire cage to a dog sitter on a road trip, I decided to purchase this soft crate for my Frenchie pup. When he arrived two days before the trip including hotel stay, I took him to the kitchen so he could study him. It was easy to set up. He got straight to the point! (The attached photo is from the moment he first slapped it.) He sniffed, took a small bite, then lay down and chewed on his stick. He slept well in it at the hotel, once I covered him with a light blanket. (He's used to the house being covered.) I didn't put it away because he still enjoys being in it. I bought a medium size which he will be comfortable in when he grows up. (He weighed about 12 pounds when I took the picture.) The cage appears to be quite sturdy, but it is fully disclosed - my pup is a light chewer, is not hyperactive and is used to sleeping in the cage. So UMMV. The red color is very tasteful and matches the photos - maybe a little darker. I will be having another Frenchie puppy soon and if they decide to sleep together I will be purchasing a larger cage of the same size to use when planting.
