Review on Enhanced Noise Filter B25N: BOSS Audio Systems Ground Loop Isolator for Optimal Car Audio Performance by Patrick Burton

Surprising and then catastrophic.

Had two on my amp. One on the front and one on the back. It worked flawlessly for almost a year, then one day a strange noise appeared randomly at the right front door, the noise was like something rattling in the door. So, after a couple of weeks I finally took the door apart, checked everything, even added foam to make sure nothing was rattling, and still this noise was there, so I tried to find it, but to no avail, but after that about two days I smelled burnt. And I found that my speaker stunk and my tweeter was making that sound like crazy. So I thought my $250 speakers blew up and bought new ones, basically the same ones but now half price, anyway I installed them, retuned the amp and guessed it was still happening, so fast that I turned it off and started tearing mine apart to trace the wires and everything was 100% so I turned it on until it started making noise. And I checked the connections and when I got to this product it broke when I moved it a little bit but couldn't get it out removed it and everything sounds perfect again. Maybe I got a bad one, I don't know. But it cost me $120 for new speakers after he blew mine. Ps: The best way to solve this problem, which I had to do afterwards, is to run an extra ground wire. Like a battery to a motor, a motor to a frame. Battery to body, body to frame. engine to the body. Just don't run it in the same places.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
