Bought for Zoom meetings on my phone. Great that you don't have to hold your phone for an hour! It holds the phone by the side edges, so you'll need to make sure you don't pinch it over the volume buttons or the power buttons. It will hang down when adjusted to a crazy angle. Physics guys! Once the phone is clamped, you can bend your arm to use the phone horizontally or vertically. The base attaches to a table or table. I found it difficult to attach to my laptop - I thought it might eventually ruin the finish, although on two occasions it didn't - so I took a piece of plywood to place my laptop underneath and I attached it to it. So I can use it as a portable desk and sit at my desk, bed or chair and use Zoom on my phone with light, or while using Zoom on my laptop with light. I use medium brightness light. Its maximum brightness is somewhat blinding indoors. I haven't tried it in the sun as a fill light yet. Perhaps full brightness is required there. Pros: The long, bendable stem allows me to hold my phone at eye level to avoid awkward pull-up looks. The ring light has a cool and warm setting and is quite bright. I typically need about half the brightness. Color (warm or cool) and brightness level are very easy to set. The face is 8-10 inches, allowing light to enter from all directions. It's only 4 inches wide, so I find it necessary to have another light source in the room to reduce harsh shadows. If you're buying this for "flattering, even lighting", STOP. Instead, you'll need to invest in a large ring light. If you're under 25, this might not be a problem for you (yet!). I remember the reviews saying, that eventually the rods will break off the base of the clip so I try to be careful with that.The light is powered by your computer via a USB connection.
