Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems to work fine and improves performance.

Delivered on time, beautifully packaged securely, works as installed. The only thing it really improved was my Windows performance rating "computations per second" to about 7.1 (about right, but I can't remember if it was right or 7.0) and that's it pretty much the maximum value it can have. The other stats haven't gone up much though, other than I think the graph has gone up to 5 instead of 1 before (this is very important as the graph calls for the ball). The memory tester showed that the working memory is ok, there are no errors. I did notice an increase in performance, but it wasn't as dramatic as I thought it would be. One aspect that has changed a lot for the better has been the stability with a number of open source programs, as this always causes a problem when I try to "do too much". I recommend if buying at this price. I consider RAM to be the big name maker as that is what the system information program shows. A WARNING THAT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE WHEN BUYING RAM: DON'T BELIEVE. I REPEAT. DO NOT BELIEVE THE WORD "HARDWARE INFO" OF THE PROGRAM THAT YOUR MACHINE COULD USE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF RAM BECAUSE THE PROGRAM CAN READ WHAT THE MANUFACTURER CAN READ YOU WANTED TO EXPAND IT LATER OR SOMEONE WANTED BUT HOW I BOUGHT ONE IT WAS TWICE WHAT I NEED THEREFORE AND IT IS NOT FUNCTIONAL AS IT WAS DOUBLE WHAT THE MACHINE COULD DO. SO I RECOMMEND YOU STUDY THIS QUESTION VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING AS IT WILL AVOID MANY HEADACHES. MAYBE EVEN GETTING 1 USED RAM CHIP FROM SOMEONE THAT THE HARDWARE TEST PROGRAM SAYS WILL GO INTO A SLOT AND TRY THIS (THIS SHOULD WORK BECAUSE THE PC ONLY NEEDS ONE CHIP TO WORK) WILL TELL YOU A STORY - IF IT IF IT WORKS, THEN THAT AMOUNT IS OK, IF NOT THEN IT IS NOT OK (MOST LIKELY, BUT GUESS THAT NOT ALL RAM WORKS EVEN IF IT IS THE RIGHT SIZE, AS MANUFACTURER DIFFERENCES MAY BE A FACTOR!). NO, I LOVE PEOPLE NOT THAT MUCH FOR GIVING ADVICE BECAUSE I LOVE THEM, BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO DO A GREAT WORK FOR THEM TO OFFER THINGS WHEN I NEED. THIS ENTIRE PROJECT WAS ALL HELL OF HOURS OF RESEARCH AND SCREENING CONSULTATION, WITH THE ONLY SPOKER WAS ACTUALLY PURCHASING IT AND PAINFULLY RETURNING THE ITEM. THE MANUFACTURER'S STATISTICAL SHEET WAS VERY DOUBT FOR MY PROCESSOR AS IT IS ASSUMED THAT EXTRA RAM CAN BE PROCESSED IF IT CAN'T SO ALERT EMPTOR. I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK AND YOU WILL ONLY GET IT IF YOU HEAR MY ADVICE, OTHERWISE THIS IS "POOR TOWN FOR YOU"!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
