My 17 year old fridge was constantly iced over and couldn't hold the temperature. About 18 months ago I replaced a faulty heater coil so I knew it wasn't the problem. I decided to call the service and at least diagnose what's wrong and decide if it's worth it. The technician determined that the thermistors on the side of the freezer were faulty and offered $350 to fix the problem. I reluctantly agreed, but since he didn't have the part he couldn't get his system to let him know when it was available. I googled and found what I showed him. He made sure they were the right parts and suggested I order them and install them myself, which saved me about $225, I still had to pay $100 for the call. I installed them yesterday afternoon, took about an hour and a half most of which I was trying to fit my large frame into a 12 inch wide freezer to get to the wires to connect them. I crimped them and filled the connector. with silicone to keep moisture out. I got up this morning and in about 12 hours the freezer was down to zero and the fridge was down to about 35. And I had genuine GE parts. Completely happy!
