Review on 🧵 SINGER Bobbin Winder, White: Efficient Thread Spooling Solution by Dawn Fischer

Bought because the bobbin winder on the machine I borrowed from my mother stopped working and needed to be taken to a repair shop. The rest of the machine is working and I'm in the middle of an urgent project and need a spool of thread ASAP. Ordered and it arrived in less than 4 hours. However: On this machine, the tension disc is too tight - the bobbin spindle starts moving and then stops and won't rotate until I pull the thread on the tensioner. Is there a solution for this? I tried turning the top of the tensioner clockwise and counterclockwise, but that didn't seem to make it weaker or tighter. When you push on the top cap you can feel the spring underneath and it doesn't seem like it should be putting that much pressure, but it's too much for the motor. I tried it with thinner yarn and it was still too tight for that. My workaround was to bypass the tensioner and just bypass the stock spool pins. I also had to use my finger to push the line back down as most of the time the line would wrap around the "top" of the spool without intervention.
