I love this butter dish. My old French pot broke and I was happy to find this sunny yellow. You fill the butter basket with softened butter, pour about a third of cold water into the cup and tip the portion of butter into the cup. Water forms an airtight seal and delays spoilage. The water should be changed daily, but of course we forget that and only change it every few days. However, we are incredibly lucky with that. In the few years we've used, we've had fewer than four or five corruptions. Excellent goods. It's great to always have soft butter on hand. highlighted.
