Review on Cutting Machine with Adjustable Voltage and Current for Precise Thickness Control by Grant Galloway

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes, it costs $169.00

I've had this since Saturday and I've put it to good use now. For reference, I have a 20 gallon Husky air compressor that can handle 4 CFM at 45-50 PSI. I have a water separation/filtration regulator on the tank that comes with the regulator that came with the torch. It cuts 1/8" thick sheet steel at setting 20 in one pass. Clean. This is about the thickness I need most of the time, but I don't see a problem with thicknesses up to 1/4". I actually have it around Cropped 1/8" at 15 by moving slower. Safety shield aside, I'm also happy with the PT31 torch. Consumables are cheap and again it works like a champ. Build quality is better than the Harbor Freight Titanium Flux Easy Flux 125 .Now I regret not buying it.There are some easy hacks on youtube to use it as a pilot arc torch.Instructions are on the back but hey is that chinese?lol The only thing you "install" " are the controller connections for the catenaries. Everything else is fine. The manual part of the documentation is very good, although as a newbie it doesn't clearly say it's a flare in the "Drag and D rop" style. Initially I thought you should just touch the metal to start the arc and then stand a small distance from what you are cutting. It wasn't ideal. When I found out that the tips still burn out and have to constantly touch the metal, I had no problems. Yes, this car is $169 and then some more.
